Ash Wednesday Order of Worship Grafton Community Church

Wednesday, February 18, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

In the SANCTUARY or via Zoom

In the Sanctuary, the wooden bowl at the entry contains consecrated ash of palms.  It is for your personal use in the manner of your choosing. (Ashes only available by visiting the church.)

The Pastor can administer them, or you may self-administer.  (Use of a gloved hand to touch the ashes is suggested – from the adjacent supply – for your safety and the protection of others.

You are most welcome to use the sanctuary for prayer and meditation or join us virtually by Zoom.

An Ash Wednesday Prayer

O God, who cannot hate anything which you have made and who forgives the sins of all that truly confess and duly strive to keep Your everlasting covenant as delivered to us by Christ Jesus; make us new again in this season of Lent as we acknowledge our failures to love both You and all humankind with all our hearts.  For this we pray in the name of Creator, Christ and Holy Spirit.  Amen!
