Synopsis:

In Luke’s Gospel for Sunday, Jesus seems to make impossilbe demands on those who wish to follow his teachings. In Paul’s Epistle to his friend Philemon, the Apostle takes on the issue of slavery by rejecting a simple demand that his friend reform his thinking, but instead that he be reformed as a new person in Christ. It’s a choice we face every day of our lives.
