Synopsis: This Sunday the Gospel of Luke has Jesus presenting an apocalyptic vision for his disciples and he warns that their discipleship will cause them to face persecution and even death. It’s a message that can and should test our discipleship – our faith. Yet, it offers us a challenge to see beyond the world as it appears and toward a vision of a world as it might be, if we can hold on to the hope our God offers each of us.
