FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Back by popular demand, Texas singer-songwriter Al Staehely will appear for one night only at the Grafton Community Church, 55 Main Street, Grafton, Vermont, beginning at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $25.00 and will be available for purchase at the MKT: Grafton, 162 Main Street, Grafton or at the door on the night of the performance beginning at 6:00 PM. It will be his only Vermont appearance. He will be performing original songs from his latest album, “Somewhere In West Texas” and other compositions.
Staehely's musical career began in his native, Austin, Texas in the late 1960s as part of a locally popular band called The Fabulous Chevelles. After graduating from law school in Austin, he decided to try his luck as a musician in Los Angeles. Moving there, he soon found a position as one-fourth of the 1970s supergroup, Spirit. His younger brother, John Staehely, joined him there there as well. Following his time with Spirit, Staehely played with a number of other groups, touring Europe with the Gravenites/Cipollina Band, playing with Chuck Berry during one tour and was offered a position with San Francisco’s legendary Jefferson Starship band. Returning to Texas and a career as an entertainment lawyer after a decade as a musician, Staehely has continued to perform, compose tunes and write lyrics.
Staehely previously appeared in Grafton at the Community Church in a benefit concert for the church on September 27, 2023.
